History[]

The Alien Woman[]

Moving to Manila from an unspecified province, to become a college student at San Agustin University, Alyssa is a bubbly and supportive friend to Erika Ocampo, one of the campus' prettiest students. Her parents remained in her home province after working hard to earn enough money for Alyssa's tuition fees at the university. When Erika received a low grade on astronomy, Alyssa tells her of an upcoming meteor shower that will take place later that month, completely unaware that it will indirectly lead to Erika's death from an extraterrestrial lifeform. When her best friend returns from Aurora Island following the meteor shower, Alyssa slowly begins to notice her increasingly strange behavior, combined with the mysterious deaths happening around her. Erika's boyfriend Stephen Fernando believes Alyssa is suffering from Capgras delusion, but couldn't prove it due to lack of evidence. Several days later, while at Nicole's house, Alyssa accidentally witnesses the extraterrestrial creature kill Nicole, proving her suspicions were right all along. As the creature attempts to kill her, Stephen arrives just in time and rescues Alyssa. Unfortunately, several months later, the events surrounding Erika and the university has seemingly traumatized her. One night, an unidentified assailant confronts Alyssa and proceeds to slit her throat, killing her.

Trivia[]

  • The film's post-credit scene was actually a late addition according to Ryuhei Kitamura. On the behind-the-scenes commentary, Hannah Arguelles described Alyssa's death as the "most-challenging" scene to perform in her entire acting career.
  • During pre-production, Jenzel Angeles was the first actress considered for the character, but the role ultimately went to Hannah Arguelles.
  • Alyssa was the only victim of the extraterrestrial creature that actually survived; upon this realization, Kitamura decided to include a post-credit scene for the film to kill off the character. As a result, the finished film ends on a cliffhanger, it is uncertain who killed Alyssa; whether it could be another member of the creature, or some sort of cover-up to the incident.
  • During the film's production, Hannah Arguelles is actually a college student in real-life, studying Communication and Media Studies at San Beda College Alabang[1].

Notes[]

  1. Alyssa is only a college student during the events of the film, and therefore has no occupation.
