The first Godzilla fighting game since 2014's Godzilla, Godzilla: Hell Arising began the "Godzilla Arising" Series, which would continue since the game's release. A Sequel, Godzilla: Darkness Arising is in development.

Story[]

Unlike other Godzilla Games, the game is set in the future, in the year 2099. The World has suceeded on the project on opening to another dimension, Hell, where other dominant, aggressive kaiju called the Orochi, was imprisoned by a moth-like kaiju called, Mothra, who traveled to space and prevented Orochi from destroying the galaxy. The Orochi was then trapped ever since. Space Pilots from NASA are sent to investigate the dimension. There, the two astronauts, Mark Robinson and George Jacobs, while investigating are killed, by an unknown kaiju. Then the Kaiju opens the dimension to hell, and travels to earth, and imprisons, and possesses most of the kaijus. The kaiju is now revealed as Orochi.

Five Kaijus: Godzilla, Anguirus, Rodan and Mothra was hidden from the invasion of the Orochi, needs to free the world from farther desolation, and Orochi, in response, dispatches all of the kaijus to earth, in an attempt to destroy the Kaijus, and the earth itself.

When the player reaches 110% completion, the Orochi returns, into a more powerful kaiju. This time, Planet Eater Ghidorah is also fought. When the Player beats the demon, then the player is greeted with a final cutscene that the Kaijus brought peace to earth, and the final photo shows all of the Game's Kaiju roster.

Gameplay[]

The Gameplay plays similarly to other Godzilla games, and has seven game modes: VS Mode, Campaign Mode, Rampage Mode, Showa Mode, Online mode, Local Play mode, and raid mode.

The VS Mode is a mode where you fight against other CPUs, or players. Up to 10 Players are supported. The Player can block, punch, swipe, kick, throw, or tail swipe (Only Kaijus that have a tail). The Kaijus can also throw buildings at others, or use a beam attack. There can be a beam lock too, and whoever mashes the button faster wins. There can be a rule customization, where the player can toggle the move options on and off, for example the player can make a rule where the Kaijus can only throw buildings, or cannot use their beam attacks.

The Campaign Mode is the story mode, where you can only play as the Kaijus at first: Godzilla, Rodan, Anguirus, and Mothra. The Campaign mode is where you battle Kaijus in order to progress, and also the military. If you play as Mechagodzilla (Except for the Showa incarnation), Gotengo, or Super X 1, 2, and 3, the military won't attack you, and you will also have to fight two Kaijus at once. There are different endings: If you fail to free all Kaijus from control, then the Orochi will be freed from hell and eventually destroy earth. If you sucess freeing at least 50 Kaijus from control, then you get the good ending, where the Orochi is beaten, but only trapped in the other dimension. If you suceed to free all the earth kaijus, then you can get the 110% ending. The 110% Ending is required to unlock Godzilla Earth and Gold Godzilla, as well as the other kaijus.

The Rampage mode is where you destroy cities and fill up the destruction meter. Two Players can battle and see who fills up the meter first. The Mode ends when the player's Kaiju runs out of hp, when defeated by the other player's kaiju. The military can attack the player's kaiju too.

Showa mode is where the player plays as Godzilla and experience the iconic battles and destruction scenes from the Showa era films. Only Showa Godzilla and 1954 Godzilla is playable.

Online and Local Play modes are much of the same, and you can play 10v10, 5v5, and 2v2. You can also play
