Godzilla: Nature's Protector, known internationally as Godzilla III: Nature's Protector, is a 2022 American science fiction monster film directed by Michael
Dougherty (who co-wrote its screenplay with Zach Shields and David Callaham) and featuring visual effects supervised by Guillaume Rocheron, John "DJ" DesJardin and Alessandro Ongaro. A Legendary Pictures production co-financed with Warner Bros. Pictures, Toho and Huahua Media, it is the fifth Hollywood-produced Godzilla film and the 38th Godzilla film overall, as well as the fifth film in the MonsterVerse. It is a direct follow-up to the 2021 film Godzilla vs. Kong and a distant sequel to the 2019 film Godzilla: King of the Monsters. It stars Christian Slater, Frank Grillo, Millie Bobby Brown, Julian Dennison, Brian Tyree Henry, Willem Dafoe, Kyle Chandler, Brian Cox, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Jessica Henwick, Charles Dance, Lance Reddick, Lupita Nyong'o, James McAvoy, Donnie Yen, Michelle Williams and Alex Ferns. The film was released on May 10, 2022, becoming available to stream via HBO Max the same day until July 30. Toho released it to Japan on May 30.
One year after the destruction of Mechagodzilla, Godzilla is still at odds with Apex Cybernetics, who threaten to bring about a "Titan Extinction" with more mechs as a team led a Alan Jonah, called the "Hyenas," reawaken a mutant monster called Biollante. Godzilla, Monarch and several other titans must work together to stop Apex and the Hyenas before their plans become complete.
Godzilla: Nature's Protector was followed by Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire on March 29, 2024.
Description[]
About a year after the events of Godzilla vs. Kong, the existence of Godzilla and the Titans is threatened when the attacks of Apex and Alan Jonah and his "Hyenas" Mercenary Squad awaken a giant mutant monster called Biollante. Godzilla, Anguirus and the Titans and Monarch must work together before the threat of Apex and the Hyenas begin a "Titan Extinction."
Plot[]
It is 2025, one year has passed since Godzilla's fight with Kong and subsequent battle with him against Mechagodzilla in Hong Kong. Godzilla surfaces off the coast of Norway, and advances across it's capital, Oslo, with the Norwegian military after him. He eventually finds a nearby Apex base as they evacuate. He attacks the facility, with the military opening fire on him. Now enraged, Godzilla uses his atomic breath to destroy them. Godzilla roars in rage.
