Godzilla x Kong: Rampage is a 2027 science fiction monster film being produced by Legendary Pictures. It's the sixth entry of the Monsterverse, following Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.
It was released worldwide on May 14, 2027.
Synopsis[]
Several notable mysterious events around the world leads Monarch to an investigation to find out the existence of a new world threat and a conspiracy to demolish Godzilla and Kong, leading to another epic, world-shaking battle.
Plot[]
A few months after the fight in Rio de Janeiro, a robbery occured at Outpost 74 in Germany, which is an old Apex headquarter that stores important parts of Mechagodzilla collected by Monarch. The first investigation of Monarch shown that it was done by the terrorist group of Ren Serizawa, the pilot of Mechagodzilla who survived and escaped after the Hong Kong battle in 2024. It was unknown of their purpose. A year later, in a night, Ren had a meeting with an unknown man at France, who was revealed Alan Jonah. Jonah was impressed by actions that Ren has done to Monarch, and requested for a cooperation. Ren admitted that he's a big fan of Jonah and accepted the deal.
A year later, in 2029, Titanus Titanoscorpio, a hibernating Titan on Outpost 33 in Turkey sea was suddenly awaken and headed toward Rome. She destroyed a fishing boat on her way, and finally arrived Rome, awaking Godzilla. They had a brief fight as Godzilla easily cut her head off with his Atomic Breath. The question from Monarch is, Titanoscorpio is a passive Titan and had no hostile actions for a long time from the Boston battle, then why did she risk her life attacking Godzilla for no reason. Soon, they found out that signs of terrible headache on Titanoscorpio was detected during the fight, implying that something was forcing her into the fight. However, the attack of Titanoscorpio is not the only thing notable. Many other attacks of Titans occured all over the world: Behemoth in Brazil, Methuselah in France, Amhuluk in Chile, MUTO Queen in Hawaii. Monarch compares this to the event in 2019 when King Ghidorah awoke every Titans to cause chaos all around the world, while Godzilla was heading toward Hawaii.
Meanwhile, Madison Russel, who was now working as the investigator of Monarch, was investigating about the robbery of Outpost 74. As Monarch refused to help her investigation for dealing with Titans, she asked Bernie Hayes for help. Madison spotted out that parts of Mechagodzilla disappeared mysteriously, but all of the headquarters of Apex Cybernetics were under the possession of Monarch, so there is no way Ren could've transported them with antigravity transport vehicles. Bernie theorized that they might be reusing headquarters abandoned. They decided to return to the headquarter in Florida, which was destroyed 5 years ago. Here, they found a facility deep underground and found out that Ren and his group were transporting some mechanical components from here to Switzerland through antigravity transport vehicles. Bernie said that he haven't known about this headquarter, and they decided to board on a vehicle to Switzerland to find out the truth.
In the Hollow Earth, Kong continued his journey all around the Hollow Earth. Soon, he found a canyon which led to a wide lake. As he was drinking the water from the lake, he was suddenly attacked by something, which was later revealed as a plant-like monster with vine-like tendrils. Kong was seriously injured by the monster, but finally got rid of it as he got out of the canyon.
In Switzerland, Madison and Bernie found out that Ren and his group used parts of Mechagodzilla as components for new mechs, Gigans. Here, they witnessed the showdown between one of three Gigans and a Warbat, as the Gigan easily restrained and killed a Warbat.
After the first encounter with Biollante, Kong returned to Iwi's home, which is also Monarch's Outpost 2. After Trapper healed him, Jia asked Kong about what caused this, as he revealed the monster he saw. Jia, Trapper, Andrews and Mothra followed him to the lake. Here, they found a base where Jonah and his terrorist group are there. He revealed the monster is Biollante, a hybrid created by Dr.Griffin Cao, a former Monarch geneticist who was now working under his command, using the DNA of a giant convolve plant in Hollow Earth, Godzilla, and his daughter, Lindy Jonah. He also revealed two new technologies, the ability to create a vortex to anywhere themselves and Titan signal generators that can generate different types of signals to control specific Titans to do anything. As they asked where did he get these technologies, he revealed his corporation with Ren Serizawa, and said that the surface might has already been in danger. Then, he summoned Warbats through a Titan signal generator and created a vortex on the lake. While Kong and Mothra was still struggling against Warbats, Biollante, Jonah and his group escaped through the vortex.
Back to Switzerland, Madison and Bernie were caught by Ren's henchmen. Here, Ren revealed that him and Jonah are the ones behind the rampage of Titans all around the world, and soon Gigans will appear to challenge Godzilla and Kong. He also revealed that not only Gigans but Biollante, a hybrid created by Jonah and Dr.Griffin Cao, will appear to take down the two Alpha Titans. Then, he released a Gigan, who destroyed a small village and headed toward Austria. A vortex appeared in Lake Achensee, leading Biollante and Jonah here. Godzilla was attracted by Biollante's cry, also headed back to Europe, while Behemoth, Methuselah and Amhuluk were also called to Austria by a Titan signals generator. Godzilla overpowered Biollante at first, before Gigan, Behemoth, Methuselah and Amhuluk joined the fight, overpowered him and left Biollante the chance to absorb the DNA of Godzilla. However, Godzilla got rid of her, seriously injured her and forced her to turn into tiny spores and disappear underwater. Then, he fought other Titans and finally got rid of them, but was also seriously injured. He headed toward an old lair off coast Fiji to heal by radiation from there.
In Fiji, Rodan was suddenly awaken by a signals generator, but it was seems only can disturb him, but not making him rogue. MUTO Queen appeared here and had a fight with Rodan, where she got overpowered. Meanwhile, Godzilla got out of the lair, with his eyes, mouth and body glowing scarlet red. Monarch theorized that his energy was on top and was about to pass the limit, and it shown that he was ready for an intense battle. Then, he headed to Fiji after Rodan knocked MUTO Queen out. As they saw him, Rodan bowed down to Godzilla, while MUTO Queen disobeyed due to the effect of signals generator, forced Godzilla to kill the rogue MUTO the same way he used in 2014. Then, he came to Rodan and was about to teach him a lesson for awakening without his allowance. Fortunately, Kong, Mothra and Andrew's group came here through a vortex, and Mothra calmed Godzilla down and persuaded him to team up with Kong and Rodan, since they are the only ones not in control of Apex Cybernetics. Godzilla, Kong, Rodan and Mothra united for a huge battle.
Gigan suddenly appeared in Dubai, leveled multiple buildings, flew to the top of Burj Khalifa and pinned one of its hook-like limb on the building while waiting for Godzilla. Soon, Godzilla, Kong, Mothra and Rodan appeared here, as Behemoth, Methuselah and Amhuluk also arrived to help Gigan. Amhuluk restrained Kong, while Behemoth and Methuselah rushed to Godzilla for a melee fight, easily overpowered him with the brute strength of two. Mothra fired silk shots to Gigan, which were easily dodged, but distracted Gigan from a powerful blow from Rodan from behind, nearly knocked him out of the building. On the ground, Godzilla's Atomic Breath was distracted by Behemoth, caused him to blast the top of Burj Khalifa, nearly hit and knocked Gigan out. In Switzerland, Madison knocked Ren and his henchmen out, and destroyed the control panel of Titan signals generators all around the world. Behemoth, Methuselah and Amhuluk stopped attacking Godzilla and Kong, left Kong the chance to climb up Burj Khalifa, ambushed Gigan, pounced to it with a powerful punch, knocked it out of the building. Even on the land, Gigan was still able to handle against both Godzilla and Kong at the same time with its fighting skills, but not long after Godzilla charged to it, knocked it out. Then, he destroyed Gigan's limbs and threw it away for an Atomic Breath to destroy his entire body, and finally left the head to Kong.
From the Thames River in London, spore of Biollante suddenly floated to the surface and merged into a giant form, as Jonah and his group also arrived. Now, with the DNA absorbed from Godzilla, Biollante evolved into a new form with crocodile-liked head. She spitted out a stream of corrosive sap from her mouth, destroying buildings around. Godzilla, Kong, Mothra and Rodan also arrived here. The last two Gigans were also launched out and arrived here. The first Gigan had a fight with Kong, overpowered him with his agility, while the second one handled against Mothra and Rodan. Godzilla fought against Biollante, injured her tendrils, but also injured by the corrosive sap flowed out from them. Mothra was thrown into a building by a Gigan, who also slammed Rodan on Big Ben tower, destroying it. Another Gigan was evenly matched with Kong, until the second one joined the fight, overpowered him. Godzilla handled against Biollante well, until Jonah's H.E.A.V fired a beam at him, distracted him and left Biollante the chance to strangle him with two of her tendrils, nearly killed him. As Andrew's group arrived, their H.E.A.V fired at Jonah's, damaged its engine and made it fall to the water. Jonah and Cao survived the crash, as Cao, terrified by the destruction of Biollante, used a special device to make a call to Andrews' H.E.A.V, revealed them that the weakness of Biollante is the large fleshy sac at her belly, before got kicked off the riverbank and got slammed on by Biollante's tendril. Andrews' H.E.A.V fired a beam at Biollante's fleshy sac, seriously injured her and forced her to unleash Godzilla. He fired an Atomic Breath blast at Biollante, who tried to block it with her tendrils, but failed and was seriously burnt. Meanwhile, a Gigan left Kong for another one to help Godzilla, who was preparing another Atomic Breath blast. Mothra and Rodan restrained a Gigan who got its head tore off by Kong. Godzilla managed to throw the Gigan on his back off, and fired an Atomic Breath on both the Gigan and Biollante. The Gigan got its head vaporized by the blast, while Biollante got her fleshy sac exploded, leading to her tendrils and her head sent flying in all directions, withered and rotted. Jonah came close to Biollante's head and interacted with her the last time, then maniacally screamed toward Godzilla in the mourn of losing his daughter once again.
In Switzerland, Ren's base, Madison and Bernie were found by Mark and other Monarch members. Jonah, Ren and their group were arrested. Kong and Mothra got back to Hollow Earth, while other Titans returned hibernating. However, the water of river Thames was seriously polluted by the corossive sap from Biollante, requiring Monarch to solve it. Meanwhile, Godzilla was known continuing looking for radiation all around the world again. Monarch theorized that he is collecting power for dealing with something much more terrible.
