Manila is the capital and the second largest city by population in the Philippines behind Quezon City. It is the main setting of the 2018 Godzilla film, The Return of Godzilla.
It is also the main setting of the Reiwa series, due to Manila being the capital city of the Philippines.
Name[]
Maynilà, the Filipino name for the city, comes from the phrase may-nilà, which translates to "where indigo is found".

Following the destruction of San Francisco and Mylene being acquitted for Olivia's death, Alicia decides to return to Manila to reunite with her mother, but finds out that Romina had already passed away only a few hours ago. Alicia realizes that she was too late, and immediately regrets her decision to help Mylene. A few days later, Alicia visits some of her former relatives, including her ex-husband and her supportive best friend, while apologizing to Mylene, before spending her final moments on Earth as Clara impacts central France, triggering another extinction event.
Although not shown, Alicia is implied to be killed by the global firestorm, which also resulted in the destruction of Manila along with the rest of human civilization, rendering the human race extinct.
