The MonsterVerse is an American multimedia franchise and shared fictional universe that is centered on a series of monster films and TV series featuring
Godzilla, King Kong, Gamera and other giant monster characters produced by Legendary Entertainment and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. It also consists of short films, TV specials, theme park attractions, comic books and video games. Like many shared universes, common plot elements, settings, cast, and characters are crossed over. Like the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the MonsterVerse releases it's films and media in phases. there are three phases: Phase 1, called the Godzilla/Kong saga, Phase 2, called Gods and Monsters Assemble, and Phase 3, called Clash of the Gods. The first MonsterVerse film, Godzilla (2014), began Phase 1, which concluded with Godzilla: Resurrection (2027). Phase 2 began with the anime-like animated series Monarch G-Team (2028-31) and concluded with Destroy All Monsters (2035). Phase 3 began with Destoroyah (2036) and concluded with the two-part finale to the franchise: Destroy All Monsters: Annihilation (2039) and Destroy All Monsters: Final Wars (2040).
The franchises Short Films, TV Specials, Comics, Novels and Games expanded the universe. Viral marketing campaigns for the franchise include Monarch News, Monarch Sciences, Apex Cybernetics, etc. A making of documentary was also made, titled MonsterVerse: Evolution. The MonsterVerse was commercially successful, becoming one of the highest-grossing media franchises of all time by 2035. It received positive reviews from critics and kaiju fans and has received multiple and historical break-throughs for the Godzilla, Gamera and King Kong franchises, such as winning multiple Oscars at the Academy Awards.

On March 25, 2021, a themed area based on the MonsterVerse, called the World of the MonsterVerse, opened at Universal's Wild Empires in Carlsbad, California. Expansions are underway for future installments as of 2023. In June 2022, Legendary announced a theme park located in Southern France that is based on many of their franchises, including the MonsterVerse. It may open in 2025. The oldest attraction based on the franchise is Godzilla 4-D, which was based on Godzilla: Awakening. It was put in various Theme Parks, Zoos, Museums and Aquariums around the world. Footage from the 4-D attraction would be used in an episode of Monarch: The Lost Files.
